HISTORY OF HODAN PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

 

Hodan Psychological Services Incorporated in Florida in March of 1994 after relocating from Wisconsin.

In Wisconsin, Dr. Gerald Hodan directed a clinic known as Behavior Management Consultants for 20 years. Dr. Gerald Hodan has initiated numerous programs including: geriatric consultation services, a mood disorder clinic, and forensic psychologcal/neuropsychological services. He established mental health programs for a hospital and large out-patient medical facility. He developed Employee Assistance programs as far back as 1977 for a brewery, television station, cable company and a police department.

In Wisconsin, Dr. Claudia Ressel-Hodan worked as a school psychologist providing services to children of special needs including physical, mental, learning and emotional handicaps. In 1982, she became one of the first 200 school psychologists to become licensed. At the same time she became a Certified Psychotherapist and entered into privite practice at Behavior Management Consultants. She developed the Child Counseling Center and later the Women's Counseling Center which became divisions of Behavior Management Consultants. She recieved her doctorate degree while in Wisconsin and finished her residency in Florida. She became licensed as a Psychologist in Florida in 1995.


Dr. Gerald Hodan and Dr. Claudia Ressel were married in 1993 and moved to Florida where they began Hodan Psychological Srevices. The clinic provides individual, marriage, group and family therapy for a broad range of patients both in terms of age and their presenting problems. Hodan Psychological Services also provides psychological consultative services to various agencies, including the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and the Social Security Administration. These services include psychological testing and psychotherapy.
